If you cannot attend the JALT International Conference in Tokyo, Nov. 18-20, then this is your chance in Hiroshima to see one talk and one poster session which have been accepted there. First, Eleanor Carson and Hidenori Kashihara will address the question “When should Japanese be used in the English classroom?” They will present the results of a detailed student questionnaire. Next, Dan James and Keith Hoy will display their poster session entitled “Introducing Your Hometown with a Video Slideshow.” Their teaching suggestion effectively utilizes YouTube to improve students’ English skills and cross-cultural knowledge. During the final hour, meeting participants are encouraged to share an idea, a technique, or a practical teaching activity that has worked well for them!

JALT全国大会(11月１８－２０日、東京) 特別内覧会と英語指導法の共有

１１月１８日から２２日まで東京で開催されるＪＡＬＴ全国大会に出席出来ない方にとっては、今回の会合は全国大会是認講演の一つとポスターセッショ ンを見るチャンスです。まず最初に、エレノアカーソン氏と柏原英則氏が“英語授業で日本語はどの場合に使用されるべきなのか？”について詳細な学生に対す るアンケート結果を示しながら話を進めていきます。次にダンジェイムズ氏とキースホイ氏が”ビデオスライドで故郷紹介“と題するポスターセッションを行い ます。学生の英語能力向上の為にYouTubeを効果的に使う提案をしてくれます。最後の一時間は、この会合参加者がそれぞれの教授法の成功例を共有し意 見交換を行います。
